Testimonials

"It is hard to organize all of the thoughts that come to mind when asked what Mission means to me. There are hundreds of things that come to mind when I hear the word Mission. That word represents something that I have been dedicating my life to for the last three years. To me mission is more than just hockey, it’s a family. I know that every team out there likes to throw the word family around, but I have played for those teams and they don’t know what a true family feels like. Mission was simple, a group of people that loved hockey and everyone was there for the same reason. Mission is respecting your teammates and coaches. Mission is getting called out in front of your entire team then going out and scoring a goal the next shift. Mission is about overcoming challenges and pushing your teammates to the next level. Every practice was like a tryout, you always had to be on top of your game because you could always get moved to a different squad. The competition at practices was unreal as players pushed each other to a limit they have never been to. While the competition is high, there is still the lighter side of mission. I had the most fun I have ever had playing for mission. I always looked forward to practice and even more to every game. 6:30 AM practices didn’t even seem too early because I knew I was going to go skate with my family. It was my drug. My motivation to becoming a better hockey player was so much easier because I always was looking forward to the next skate. Mission isn’t a part time activity though, I dedicated everything to it. I put mission ahead of everything, friends, school and so on. When you throw on the jersey you are promising the guy next to you that you are going to do whatever it takes to help the team. If you aren’t going to try your best you shouldn’t even be dressed.

Overall the experience of playing mission hockey has changed me as a player and a person. I am playing at a skill that I never thought I would be at. I have had coaches of junior teams talk to me about playing for them that I would never have dreamed would happen in a million years. I have made too many friends to count and even more memories. This is all thanks to mission and everyone that was a part of my experience. Mission isn’t a team, it’s a lifestyle."

"To me Mission means opportunity. The opportunity to play high level hockey, yes, but far more important is the opportunity to learn and grow as a person and as a team. Mission means working hard for the guys on the bench next to you. You practice together, you win together, you grow together. For me there is nothing like being on a “team”. Yes a “team” I say it again because in this state a real team is hard to find. Mission is a team, not a roster of individuals but a team that shares the same goals and understands the importance of each other.

“There are plenty of teams in every sport that have great players and never win titles. Most of the time, those players aren’t willing to sacrifice for the greater good of the team. The funny thing is, in the end, their unwillingness to sacrifice only makes individual goals more difficult to achieve”

Mission hockey is about the team. Mission means practices are competitive and you work together to accomplish goals. Because of this I became better individually. Playing at mission I grew up. I learned to take responsibility for myself and that adversity is something that can be overcome. The friendships I formed and the lessons I learned stretch far outside the boards and blue lines. Although cliché ,Mission is without a doubt a FAMILY. To be apart of it is something special. To me mission has meant more than what words can describe. Hockey is just the surface because underneath lies more than I could of imagined."

"Our son has played there for the last 2 years, and from our family's perspective we cannot speak highly enough of this coaching staff and organization.  When they say they don't tolerate politics - THEY MEAN IT!  It is truly a family atmosphere within the organization.  The coaches are tough on the kids, but they build better hockey teams, coaches are respected by the kids and the kids keep coming back with a strong desire to play FOR THESE COACHES.
Our son has experienced his most significant growth as a player, while playing with this organization.  Not just on the ice, but off as well.  This organization watches grades, team dynamics, and level of commitment while encouraging community service and fostering growth of the players throughout the year.  The organization is willing to help these teenage boys grow as young men as well, and it has been a wonderful experience for us....we are having a GREAT time being part of the Mission family!!"

"Hockey is only a part of what Mission offers and my son walked away with much more than learning how to play hockey. He endured a lot of up’s and down’s but left a better young man. It really is true when people state that it is a brotherhood and the comradary is priceless. ...

You have Mission fans for life in us and if we can ever help you and Mission in the future please do not hesitate to call on us.
Thanks for all the memories!"

"Want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU for an awesome Mission experience.  Obviously I can’t put into words all the emotion behind that simple statement.  I know that Clayton wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world and he gained so much more than hockey skills from the years he has spent with you and the team...

Again, words aren’t adequate, but we can’t thank you enough for the life lessons Clayton has learned.   Rick and I are going to miss cheering for the Red & White!  J (Although we will ALWAYS be Mission fans!)"
