COACH GOLTZ STEPS OUT OF ASU HOCKEY
2010-03-21
Coach Goltz tendered his resignation to the ASU Hockey program on Friday, coming off one of the most successful seasons in Sun Devil Hockey history.Goltz is proud of what was accomplished over the past 2 seasons as ASU's Head Coach (tied for best start ever at 14-0, 8-0 sweep vs. UofA for only the second time, a #8 National Ranking mid-season, ASU's first National appearance in 4 years, and ASU's second ever win in a National Tournament).
"We did what we set out to do and I am very proud of that. ASU is back on the national stage as a legitimate team. They should have another successful season next year and hopefully for years to come."
One of the major factors in Goltz's decision to step down was his desire to focus on the growth and direction of Mission.
"Mission is my baby, and as proud as I am of ASU, I feel I need to refocus my time and energy on expanding our developmental program."
Goltz has one simple goal for Mission: to allow it to grow while maintaining its original integrity and personality.
